Well, copper may be copper, but speaker wires do sound different. I
recently tried a few, all copper, and preferred a Chinese cable,
Yingwang I think. But for now i'm using blue jeans cable that's
$0.79/Ft . The gray version is $0.59/Ft. :-D They use Belden cable.

Patrick Dixon, he's on this board too and a dealer of Slim Devices I think.
Plus he mods them...
Good luck!

I second that vote, foobar2000 rocks. Setup preferences - Diskwriter and off you go!

What aboute the datetime screensaver issue? Is there a solution for
that? I noticed yesterday that the time doesn't update when I use the
datetime screensaver when the player is switched off (d-mode's point 1
all the way at the top)...
Thanks, jan

That Sonic Impact T-Amp looks nice! Does anybody have a recommendation
for a power supply? And for some decent speakers while we're at it?
Seems to be hard to get though! PCMall showed it in stock yesterday,
out of stock today :-(

I used this in EAC (compression options - External Compression -
Additional command line options):
-6 --replay-gain -V -T artist=%a -T title=%t -T album=%g -T
date=%y -T tracknumber=%n -T genre=%m -T comment=EAC
0.95prebeta5 / FLAC 1.1.0 %s
And as an example these are the sizes for Steely Dan

Pardon my ignorance, but would there be any difference in audio
quality between the SB2 and the SB when using the digital output,
optical or coax?
Thanks, jan

I'd like to have the ability to either use preamp functionality or
totally switch it off and bypass all of it for the most pure output...
If I use the optical output, does the SB still use any preamp functionality?

%. Distance to
router is about 11ft through 2 walls.
I could imagine though that 11g would give better range and signal strength. Or
that maybe at some point I should replace my (belkin) 11b router with an 11N
router, also for range. Any thoughts on that?
