I suspect you'll be amazed at the difference.

always had problems getting version 6 to scan, but the 3-08
nightly did work. Nothing has changed with the library itself, and
5.4.x scans and plays it fine.
What am I missing here?

Hello. I had the 3-08-2005 nightly version 6 running, finally, and
decided to try the new beta 2. Hmm...
When scanning the library with --d_info --d_scan --d_sql, I see
for me, although it is resource intensive.

I`m trying to install Slimserver on a small Linux distro called
Smeserver. I get this error when I try to start the service. Anyone
Try rpm -e Slimserver, and some other name combinations. If you can't
get it, maybe try rpm -qa | grep -i slimserver to find the actual
package name.
I've noticed that the rpm name and the installed package name don't
always match with Slimserver.

on the same system (dual P3, SCSI, 1GB, RedHat EL),
although 5.4.1 produces skips and occasionally cuts off songs early.
Seems that for my environment Slimserver is regressing over time, so I hope I
can use the more stable version with the new hardware.

Hello. I'm wondering whether the new squeezboxes will work with older
versions
of Slimserver, say 5.4.0 or 5.4.1. I'm planning to order one if so.
6.0 will be required. The squeezebox 2 is totally new hardware
moving files around
to figure it out.
Thanks,

I upgraded the server from 512M to 1GB recently, and seem to be more stable
since, but I'm planning ahead and wondering if I'll need even more RAM in the
future...
