I really like the idea behind Michael Herger's SlimCD... so to take that a step further ... how hard is it to:
1) Create a similar CD for the PowerPC platform? (Mac Mini G4 for in my case) 2) Create some sort of master bootable (linux?) external USB2/Firewire drive with SlimServer (and perhaps Firefly server and a UPnP server) that has a couple of partitions. e.g. (i) a partition that will allow booting on usb boot enabled generic x86 machines (windows+dell types) (ii) if needed a partition for booting intel macs (via firewire / usb2) (iii) if needed a partition for booting PPC macs (via firewire), and (iv) a FAT32 partition to store all the media (e.g FLAC and mp3 files) - so this can be accessed even if you don't booth from the drive. Does this make sense? Will this be useful to anyone?
