Has there been any statement regarding whether the iPod software will be
updated to be able to play FLACs? I still use my 8 year old iPod
Classic iPod in my car.
Major advantage of FLAC over ALAC: FLAC has built in error checking. So
one could point and click a couple of times and run a batch check on
many thousands of files to learn whether any file is corrupted. This is
not available for ALAC.
