Although to be clear, that tells you the format of the file itself, and not
whether any transcoding is going on.
AFAIK there is no way to determine from the player whether or not
transcoding is taking place -- you basically have to look at the file type,
and the rules file, and figure it out. I

This only seems to show the original file format, not the streamed file
format, example when playing a monkeys audio file this is what is shown
not flac or whatever it's transcoded to.
Do you know, is the list of file formats the order of precedence for
conversion?

if you look at bitrate, it should be showing the transcoded
