Hi there, I'm posting this to help anyone else from suffering..
I just spent 6hrs trying to connect to Slimserver... Eventually, found that my AT&T Global Network Client Version was updated to 6.6.1.3000, when I connected to work last night. There is also a Firewall powered by Zone Labs version 6.5.063.010 installed in this update. This firewall, by default, helpfully prevents any computer from accessing my computer!!! Hope this is the correct place to post, this makes sense and it helps someone else.
