I'd love to buy a couple of replacement SB cases. Does anyone still have
any please? Patrick's website no

Patrick,
I received the case from you safe and sound. My SB2 is looking like
the day it left the factory again. I should have ordered two lol
Thanks for packing it so well. I really appreciate your service and
you are obviously just doing me a favor instead of making $.

Did you have to scrape off the rubbery stuff before painting?
And what paint would you recommend?
See my post above. I believe SlimDevices took a bunch of cases out of
the production line before they had the rubbery coating
I have an SB1 in a box somewhere, I'll have to dig it out and see how
the coating is looking. Maybe it's exposure to light or something?

Anything that touches it turns black.

I have had different Squeezeboxes including the Transporter. But my
first Squeezebox 2 is still amongst my favorite due to its low profile
form factor.
But for some reason the case has gone all sticky and gummy on me.
I cannot find a replacement case in the Slim accessories store. Does
Hmmm, you're not alone - my Sb1 has gone that way and two SB2's are also
heading that way - be great to get another case but wouldn't bet on it.

I think your only chance will ne a second hand, perhaps a dead unit.
Or you could contact Sales directly to see if they have any spares
tucked away in the Santa Clara facility.
I wouldn't get my hopes up though.

I remember seeing some creative and handy people made their own case
mods. I wonder if there are shops online that could do custom made
cases?
Failing that I guess there must be small handy shops that can do custom
works.

Thats always an option. The SB1 and SB2 were the best units for this due
to the screen being seperate from the main PCB.

Is this happening to just the black ones? I have one SB1 and two SB2's
painted silver and they're all fine.
Since Slim Devices painted cases for resale, painting the case might be
an option.

Didn't they get the uncoated cases from the factory to paint though? I
think

To tell you the truth, I've never seen a black one in person. I didn't
know they had a rubbery coating.

Feels similar to the snooze bar or knob on the Boom. Won't be the same
material, but a similar kind of finish.
