So it's essentially a factory-installed HomePlug audio distribution system. I believe this is the first time this has been done for purely digital audio. The first receiver with this is the 'ZR6001SP' (http://us.marantz.com/Products/1545.asp), which includes a 'ZC4001 Client' (http://us.marantz.com/Products/1549.asp), also available separately. High price though, $1299.99 for the receiver (which is based on the SR5600 selling for $649.99) and the client is $329.99 - yes, more than a Squeezebox. But it includes an amp and speakers. In fact, the client may be very much what a Squeezebox boombox might look like. It also gives you an idea of how much it might cost - keep in mind, DAvED is a lot simpler than a Squeezebox. It's an interesting, unusual approach though, and in my mind much more interesting and revolutionary than the iPod boombox.
