yep i use them all over the place and, for example, my daughter can
stream from the home server to softsqueeze in flac quite happily (seems
to provide about 2000 happily) but she is on the same floor. The
homeplug in question is on the floor below and that seems to make the

Nope - a variation of this problem is logged as bug 4266 (
http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=4266 ). If you were
running Linux then there was a code patch that worked in 6.x but you
cannot patch the code in Windows

Is there any way around this i.e. retain limiting for audio files in
flac but not for alien bbc streams - some pref file i can edit or
something?
