Yeah, there have been several firmware updates since this last worked
for me. My guess is that this is hostname-via-dhcp something that went
away in a firmware update.

If it looks like something broke in the firmware then file a bug. If it
was an intentional change someone will explain why, otherwise it'll
probably get fixed at some point.
