You could try installing 'SoftSqueeze' which is the software player included in the SlimServer package.
Use your browser to navigate to your slimserver homepage at http://127.0.0.1:9000 (or use the IP address of your slimserver) And follow the links at the bottom of the screen for softsqueeze. Enjoy!
