Two weeks later and still can't play my 24/96 files via LMS. Don't know
what the problem is, but for now I'm just using the USB flash drive
plugged into the Touch for these files. It's a 64 gb stick so I can fit
a few albums on there, but i really wish LMS would stream these files.

A longshot you are sure that the 24/96 files are 2 channel you have not
bought any 5.1 files .
I don't think HD tracks sells these ,but other vendors do ?

Have you tried connecting your server and the touch into the same router
both with Ethernet? You need to eliminate the possibility that your
wireless network bandwidth is the problem.

No mods to Touch except to plug it via ethernet into an access point
that connects wirelessly to my network. Is it because I use iTunes? I
unchecked the use iTunes box and that didn't help. What are the
default settings for my file types page??

If you havee not touched
Then temporarirly wire the player to. your ap may not have the
troughput.
You can put it closer to the router and lsiten via headphones

Thanks for the suggestions--my server (iMac running Snow Leopard) is
wired to my DLink router, then all my players are wireless because they
are all in different rooms (and floors) of my townhouse. I have not had
any throughput problems before but if the access point could be a

I have a few hdtracks that stream just fine. Very weird!

Return all file types settings to default and try, no flac as wav
streaming !
