Please check your server.log files.
I've been playing Spotify for the last several hours and I'm no longer
receiving the error message. Strange.

I've tried rebooting picore, lms, etc. Works fine for a few songs and
then I get this error message and it starts rolling through song after
song w/same message...any idea what's going on here?

Are you using Connect mode, or selecting Spotify content from
