Re: [slim] Need help pointing towards itunes
It's not clear to me why you would want to point SBS to iTunes when you have music files that SBS supports and iTunes doesn't. As far as I understand it, the only thing gained with iTunes integration with SBS is access to your iTunes playlists. Which is more important to you, your iTunes playlists, or your 24-bit files? If it's the latter, simply point SBS to your music library. Exactly how you point it to the library on the mounted drive depends on the OS on the computer running SBS. Some other details would be helpful, such as (1) how are your lossless, MP3, etc stored on the drive (ie, what is the directory structure), and (2) what specifically do you mean by sort by lossless/lossy? -- aubuti aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85989 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] 7.6: working with MusicIP? (no 'M' icon)

Re: [slim] Feature request: SqueezeboxCar having a Player and a Squeezebox Server Satellite
A poll associated with this post was created, to vote and see the results, please visit http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86053 Question: Would you buy a home integrated Squeezebox car appliance - Yes - No I have wanted this for a very long time. But it would have to work. I don't want a science experiment. So work properly, Work reliably. Not require diddy-daddlying. Ideally, I'd like something that uses 3G (as FLAC quality is not essential in the car). But not with its own access - it would have to have SAP (Bluetooth) to connect via my existing access. A wi-fi sync (as you describe) would also work well. And so would the ability to simply plug in a portable USB hard disk. It is not hard (and takes no effort) to synchronise my server with another USB hard disk (I do it all the time for backup) and simply plug that into the car. The Squeezebox in the car would have to be designed specifically to allow operation while not looking at it, and not compromise safety in any way. An alternative would be an Android/iPhone app that allows all this (over 3G of course) on the deivce itself and simply connect that to the car. I know that's possible now, but it's not exactly bother-less. As I said - I've got better things to do than sit around for hours trying to piece something together. -- amey01 amey01's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11274 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86053 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Jazz FM Audio On Demand
I've created a plugin for this. It should be available in the Other 3rd Party plugins list. It will also require you to install the very latest version of BBCiPlayer. It plays the Flash/AAC streams (same as those played by the web browser). Let me know what you think (here or on the plugin forum). Note - there may be issues playing back on Touch/Radio at present, if you have this problem then disable set the proxied streaming option for internet radio. -- Triode Triode's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86072 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] What Is Your Favorite Music Service?
I was curious to know what everyone here considers their favorite music service for the Squeezebox. I am a Rhapsody fan but I like to browse through multiple services because I always feel I might be missing something better. Lets see who takes the cake, which service is most popular among our peers. -- phildeeze I consider myself a Wi-Fi radio addict! I can't even remember how I listened to the radio before I owned my 'Squeezebox Touch' (http://www.squeezeboxtouchreview.net). phildeeze's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44132 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86079 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

It seems they have everything until your personal collection reveals they aren't really deep (in age) with most artists' collections. Re: [slim] Feature request: SqueezeboxCar having a Player and a Squeezebox Server Satellite
A poll associated with this post was created, to vote and see the results, please visit http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86053 Question: Would you buy a home integrated Squeezebox car appliance - Yes - No Metazargo;615259 Wrote: Everything is setup fine, in the house, but what about the car? I can use a mobile device, as an iPhone, but this hasn't 150GB space... I finally want the same, the identical music library like at home. A SqueezeboxCar device would be a great new player, which could use an external disk, with a copy of the home library and play it with a local Squeezebox Server, a satellite. But better than a copy would be a sync. Many people park the car in the range of their WLAN, so SqueezeboxCar could automatically detect availability of it's parent Squeezebox Server and sync the library. I couldn't say which type the SqueezeboxCar should be, classic car radio, replacement of the CD changer. I would prefer the replacement of the CD changer controlled by a Touch like screen. Or even that SqueezeboxCar would be a WLAN repeater allowing control by iPeng. I would buy such immediately. Very good. You can do this with current tools, specifically the Touch. At this point (since I don't have a Touch,) the only missing piece is a cron run of rsync to make the touch have the same music files as the home server (and then do a clear/load.) Re: [slim] the SQUEEZEBOX RADIO SHOW (this Saturday night 11pm EST)
Thanks toby10. I'm going to try one last test to try to trick the system with MagicJack. You don't need to reveal your telephone number. All you have to do is dial in a 213 number and punch in the access code BlogTalkRadio supplies...then dial my home number and tie us into a 3-way conference. I'll send you that information in a PM. I've never tried NowLive but I've been a listener on BlogTalk for about a year now. I've become an expert on streaming them on my SqueezeRadio. I am proud to say I've learned some tricks recently, such as being able to fast forward (as well as reverse) their podcast on the SqueezeRadio. I've never had any problems with BlogTalk so they get a big THUMBS UP from me. -- chipmalee chipmalee's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=39278 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85686 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
