I have 1 unit that will reboot if I slightly move the power cable. It
came out of the box recently, I guess it was just built that way.
I also have a buddy who tells me his Logitech Classic did the same from
day one.
So it's not uncommon, but 2 out of 2 in the OP's case

Is it possible to customize the names of the Whitebear server and
renderers? I don't like that it adds '(by Whitebear)' to the names.

Can SqueezeCommander mute/reduce volume of all players when the phone
rings?
It will only reduce the volume of whichever of my 2 players is selected.
I thought it used to do both and wonder if I've played with something I
shouldn't have.

it can be a server setting if you sync
I thought that, but have never had the volume synced, either in
squeezecommander or in lms.
I always have the players synced, although they're not always both
turned on.
I may have imagined it reducing volume of both players, but if it does
for other people without synced volume, I'd like it

Ummm. Well, no... (I don't get paid for this, so the reward is my
advertising...)

I use the muting function, but don't ever recall it handling multiple
unsynced players (or perhaps I am not remembering properly myself;

Shame, but that's fair enough I suppose. (Feel guilty for not having
donated now, maybe I'll have to rectify that!)
Hi all
I had a power interruption yesterday and since then my Squeezebox 3 (aka
Classic) won't connect to the wireless network. On restarting it came
up with 'Ethernet appears disconnected. Please check your network
connection' after the network set up prompt. I've tried many factory
resets,
I was wondering if there is some configuration or security option I can
us to put some control on the interface of the Logitech Squeezebox
Controller or other compatible software controllers. The reason is that
the controller, choose music etc, tends to get left and lent around to
allow people to
FW 137 came with 7.6.0 and has not changed since.

Are you sure the wifi router does not lock out clients based on MAC

A shot in the dark: try changing (temporarily) the channel used by the
wifi router ?

Loose power connection into SB3?
PowerLine adapters may make more sense than buying replacement SB3 WiFi
cards.
Just reseated the wifi card and daughterboard and still died a day
later. Just did the
Not a loose connector, unfortunately. No amount of wiggle will get it
to reboot. I wish it was that, easy fix, as it'd most likely be a Cold
solder joint. These were used units I got locally, so I can't vouch for
how they were stored.
I wonder if some of the components on Sb3's have an...

Touches and radios are out of the question since they don't sync well...
Huh? In my experience the Touch and Radio sync just as well as the
IP3K-based models. I've seen a couple reports of sync problems, but none
that conclusively pinned it down to the newer SB models.
I will admit that my knowledge is probably a little out of date but when
I had a touch when they originally came out it would not sync with my
classic ever. If that's not the case then touch here I come... Again!
:-)
It sounds as if you had some issues with your system then, and there's
no guarantee you won't have them again. But it hasn't been a general
issue of sync'ing Touches by any means.
