You do have a pretty rare combination of stuff, so I am not surprised
that there isn't anyone with exactly the same requirements. I use XPL to
do things like mute my music when the doorbell rings, but I am

Something is wrong with your setup if this is happening. Many use
player (Receiver) by itself absent any Controller, or use Controller
only for player setup.
There are numerous ways of controlling

Use Net::UDAP to configure receiver without controller - it is a bit

The latest version of shairport-sync has a new pipe backend. To get this
new backend you have to use the --with-pipe config flag before

What did you mean by this line?
The OP means he has the Receiver wired and the Controller is wireless.
What we don't know is if the Receiver creates its own wifi network (for
the Controller to connect to) or if the Controller uses the home wifi
network.
I have used the 1st option

The receiver itself has some DHCP issues in some rare configurations (
see bugzilla about that ) .
If you use static IP anyway or for other reasons too ( I do 2 of my
players and the server connect directly to switches so I can fudge with
my router without losing local music ) .
Use the router

Other thoughts if you use static IP ( not reserved DCHP in router ) you
should exclude these
I installed the WaveInput plugin and then modified the

So now I open this URL in LMS:
