[slim] Replaygain vs EBU R128

2018-04-02 Thread slartibartfast
Does anyone have any preference for Replaygain or EBU R128? If anyone is using EBU R128 did they bother to apply it to all of their files or just change over to it from a point in time? I am considering the changeover but not entirely sure it is worth doing.

Hi, looks like a pretty simple job, but it isnt simple. eg Excel isnt a database (that statement alone tells me about your IT Knowledge) Since LMS never ever touches /changes tags only reads them - there is IMHO no way to do that with a plugin. cause that would break the "never change tags with

Why would you not apply this to all your files. Consistently is key here imo. -LMS on Raspian Stretch -> 2x Radio -RPI 3 ('Mopidy' (https://www.mopidy.com/)), Aune S6 - Exposure 3010S2 - PMC FB1i pinkdot's Profile:

I find use of the term "apply it to all of their files" alarming. Chris :) Stratmangler's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=20387 View this thread:

I wouldn't be applying anything that irrevocably changes anything with the music files in my library. All of the files have Replaygain *tags*, but there's been nothing applied to the files. Why the question about EBU R128 - does LMS handle the EBU R128 tags now? Chris :)
