I have to report the same problem with SoftSqueeze. I have tried 6.0.0 and the 29-05-05 nightlies - on both occasions reinstalling SoftSqueeze. Then I completely unistalled SlimServer and reinstalled 6.0.0 and 29-05-5 (and SoftSqueeze) again. I stil have a totally unresponsive SoftSqueeze.

I too would recommend using FLAC and EAC. FLAC generally gives about a 2:1 compression and since it's completely losslessit means you're not compromising audio quality. Plus it supports tags which are reasonably comprehensive. 600 albums on FLAC will rip to something in the region of

Restart the server. I found that after a fresh install, it wouldn't find your playlists directory even after you specify it. Restarting the server solved the problem. The software seems to only look for a playlist directory when the server starts. Since a new install doesn't have it
