I have bought a Synology DS-106 NAS and installed SlimServer on it. It
runs perfectly, but there is the well known problem with SS preventing
the NAS going into standby.
Instead of wasting a lot of time trying to remedy the problem, I
considerer simply downgrading to SS 6.3.1.

Personally I started with Slimserver when it lived at 6.2 - it was
usable, buy did not do what I wanted...
Simply because it was open source I was able to communicate with the
development team and get MY Slimserver to act as I wanted (I wanted to
stop having to scan your file system and have a

Please, just make SlimServer reliable. My Squeezebox experience falls
far short of what I think it should be considering what I paid for two
SB3s. And the blame belongs to SlimServer.

I don't use iTunes, I don't use MusicIP or any of what I would call the
more exotic plug-ins. Until Slim Devices can pair their hardware with
a server solution that's on par with the quality of the SqueezeBox, I
consider the Squeezebox a very poor value.

singing wireless/ethernet modem router little bit of a bump getting it
all running but its fine now.
Still dont know why the sb wouldnt work with either NIC as I am still

As was pointed out, I was using 'open source' to conflate numerous
dimensions on which to place slimserver, such as -

Could be a Windows problem. Try running Slimserver on Linux, where you
have complete control of the OS and filesystem.

Bpa and danco were very helpful recently when I needed to get alienbbc

I had some small installation issues, but once I overcame those it
seems to run fine. I'm now at 15 days uptime and counting.
