Thanks Pippin. It appears that changing the scan parameter to look only
for new and changed files did the trick. I haven't had to clear the
cache since Saturday. I appreciate the help.

Hi bluegaspode, creator of SqueezePad,
I have an additional couple of questions on the use of Squeezepad,
related to Lyrics. I have to admit that the lyrics plugin, which
appears when you click and hold the current playing song, is just
amazing.
2 questions on this that would make the app even
Thanks, it does seem like plugins are the root of all of my problems

This used to be a problem some very far time ago. Does this only happen
via AirPlay (which I unfortunately don't have a test device for) ?
I can not tell you, as I don't have any Squeezebox devices in the home.
I only have 2 Airplay devices.

I found a download of the user manual here.

It appears to have wifi and an ethernet connection but there's no
mention of LMS. It looks like it's purely for Airplay streaming. Do you
think Logitech will keep both Squeezebox and Aiplay wifi
Hi, I have been trying to get LMS 7.7.1 to work on Ubuntu 11.10 with no
success. Can someone point me to an URL where I can download older
versions of SBS so I can get something working?
Thanks

Hey folks,
I recently switched my library from my flac library to my equivalent
mp3 library because the squeezebox furthest from the wireless router
sometimes chokes with the flacs but is always fine with the smaller
mp3s (I may also try bandwidth limiting on that squeezebox, but this

Could you look at the crossfade settings for the devices?
Works fine for me.

Hi,
Installed a SB Radio in kids room few months ago, and I'm really tired
to regularly have to review the settings (Alarm, network,...) of their

I'm amazed not being able to find an easy way to block settings access
from the SB.
A parental control is seriously missing, not only to block
Crossfade is None which I think means the other crossfade settings

all work as expected in all my players (including TOUCH and radio). I
have lots of live concert mp3 albums that are very clearly gapless.
Other than the crossfade that was mentioned, I'm out of ideas on the
possible cause.

And don't forget the Bluetooth-based wireless speakers that Logitech
introduced in late 2011. Those devices are actually on shelves now,

I confirm that since i got rid of trackstat, my system is very stable,

don't know, but would the plugin kidsplay help you here. go to LMS
Settings plugins. make sure you check the box next to show all 3rd
party plugins. This is assuming you are using local LMS and not
mysqueezebox.com.

I don't think KidsPlay will help. KidsPlay provides a means for
reprogramming the six preset buttons, but I'm fairly certain there
isn't anything for preventing changing the other settings that the
Radio has on its menus.
I think the only parental control available is the old fashioned POS
How about adopting the 'You break it, you own it' approach? If the kids
mess it up, let them fix it. Stop pandering to their fiddling!

Good idea. With this approach it won't be long before they can work it
better than you. Watch out though - once they get the hang
do you by chance have any of the players synced? Are you transcoding
mp3s? You can tell this by looking at the properties of a file being
played on one of your problematic devices (infomore).

There's always someone who's got to chime in with you can't listen to
all that music anyway on any problems-with-large-collections thread...
not helpful.
I'll post back with scan times under a newer version should I ever have
the spare time to mess about with this again - I hadn't appreciated

Logitech seems to have no problem with having a lot of different
products, look at thier mouse keyboard and computer speakers.
They seems to have problem with products like squeezeboxes, who is more
involved and takes longtime support .
