[slim] Classic 3 dead?
My Classic 3 appears to be pretty knackered. There is no display at all and the unit doesn't appear to be turning on? Ive changed the power supply and can see the optical light is flashing at the rear and can hear a v quiet clicking sound so the unit is getting some power. Ive tried holding 1 and + while turning on and nothing happens. Also took it apart and disconnected the wireless card with no effect. Anything else to try or other options? Or am I resigned to having to buy a Touch? I doubt Logitech would (or could) help with such an old unit. They stopped selling them years ago. If you prefer the SB3 over the Touch, check ebay. (Personally, I think the Touch is fine, although the SB3 does look a bit more stylish. [slim] Quick way to power down SB3s from PC to prevent Wakeup on LAN
Currently if I put my 1 year old Windows 7 PC into Sleep mode, the SB3s immediately wake it up. I first have to switch off all SB3s, and then put the PC to Sleep. Going into the web interface and turning off the SB3s one by one is pretty tedious. Is there a quick way to do this? Is there a batch file or something I could write to do the whole thing? Thanks for your answers. I am sure it will help me down the road. To be more precise on the isues I am facing: 1. On the Squeezebox. I plug in power + ethernet cable into the SB. I press for 6 secs the front button until it flashes quickly. I pressed it again so it flashes slowly. However, the ethernet light remains orange. 2. on Net UDAP side: When I type discover in the command prompt of net UDAP, it just does nothing, like it is not even searching. It returns me the UDAP prompt right away. However, I made sure that only my ethernet connection was active, wireless adapter disabled. You can configure your Win7 server so that it will only wake up upon receipt of a special magic packet. This is what the Squeezebox sends out when -- and only when -- you turn on an SB3 to wake up the PC. Once you have the front light flashing quickly and then release the button you should not have to press it again. Thank you for your patience sorry for the delay in responding, my internet went down etc etc. OK, so I have some logs. Pretty much as soon as I enable the 'Maintain Sync' option it starts to skip, but not with just enabling the sync of the players (source and power) - although in this scenario the audio goes out of sync. Hopefully logs are attached called: DoNotMaintainsync-NoSkipsButOutOfSync.txt MaintainSyncOn-PlayersSkip.txt I would appreciate your time in taking a look at them Secondly hoe can I check if I have a 'bad clock' on the server? A new update for iPeng (1.5.2) and iPeng for iPad (1.3.2) is just rolling out on the App Store. The biggest changes are actually bug fixes but as usual there are a few nice enhancements, too. FIXES: * Playback issues with radio streams should now really be fixed. * There was an issue where the player sometimes disconnected during playback. Half of this issue was related to a bug in iOS 5.1 so updating to iOS 5.1.1 should already give an improvement but there was also a bug in iPeng which is now fixed. * The most common reasons for crashes I saw in the logs are fixed. If you still experience any crashes that are NOT in the web browser (I can't fix that one, it's an iOS bug) please let me know, I'm currently not aware of any crashes that should happen during normal operation of the App. ENHANCEMENTS: * more retina artwork. While this is true for both the iPhone and the iPad version, the iPad version is more affected and especially features retina resolution player icons. * There are now scrolling labels for the current track. * You can suppress the popups that inform you about added tracks (showBriefly). A work around is to do a clear and rescan everything instead of scan for new and changed . This scan takes more time , so add some music , scan while doing something else .
