Logitech should have done this - with local music, not streaming - a
long time ago. Partner with hi-fi and receiver makers to build server
controls right into the AV unit and the remote control handset. Then
later implementation should have been linking with apps.
I had same problem and eventually changed to port 9001. Problem still
occurs occasionally, although much less.

Nothing really new. Mfrs have been building in services like Rhapsody
and Napster for years into their networked AVR's. Some are indeed
controlled by smart phone apps as an alternative to just the unit
controls and/or IR remotes.

I got the updated preview yesterday too. I like the larger album art on
the tablet and the side pullout menus for the players and stuff. I also
like the side swipe to get to the current playlist.

I launched Google Play Music from within the Cast To UPnP/DLNA For
GMusic application. Also, make sure your Squeezebox is on your home
network and not mysqueezebox.com.
