Re: [slim] Announcing SqueezePad - the first dedicated iPad App to controll your SqueezeBoxen !
Ok, this explains, why it does work via UnblockUS, as pure Json requests will pass the proxy. @Marc: I'm afraid though that such a connection scheme won't happen in SqueezePad anymore, so when using UnblockUS, the Logitech App will be the only one working. Re: [slim] Announcing SqueezePad - the first dedicated iPad App to controll your SqueezeBoxen !
The Logitech App only users JSON/RPC whatever it talks to. It's the reason it only works from LMS 7.5.4 on (that's the first version with full JSON/RPC support for menus) Makes me wonder what makes you think so, as if you checked the changelog you might figure out that we worked hard to make LMS compatible with cometd using long-polling especially for the app ;-). The app is using cometd, falling back to json/rpc if needed. -- Michael ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Announcing SqueezePad - the first dedicated iPad App to controll your SqueezeBoxen !
@Michael, if you are reading here: is the Logitech App using cometd or jsonrpc to connect to mysqueezebox.com? Cometd if possible, falling back to json/rpc (we didn't get to make cometd to work 100% reliably in JS). -- Michael ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Monday night, let's talk playlists... The "normal" mode for the current playlist is to have it in an overlay like in the Mail App. You can open it using the playlist button or swipe it in from the right. 15370 In landscape mode only, you can alternatively pin it to the content area to have it permanently visible. 1537115372 +---+ |Filename: leakpadpl2.jpg | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=15372| +---+ --- learn more about iPeng, the iPhone and iPad remote for the Squeezebox and *New: Logitech UE Smart Radio* as well as iPeng Party, the free Party-App, at penguinlovesmusic.com pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=100478 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

@Michael, if you are reading here: is the Logitech App using cometd or jsonrpc to connect to mysqueezebox.com? I agree it's somewhat shaky ground. Your display looks very good! Re: [slim] Pre-Announcement: ickStream Music Platform
Regarding alternative ways of selecting and playing music, the user interface provided by MinimServer (via any UPnP controller) is by far the best I have found for a multi-platform UPnP/DLNA solution, and it is free. It's a very flexible and logical way to select items to play in any number of ways, with hierarchies that change depending on what you have selected thus far. Really rather neat. It can't do what ickStream will do (as far as I understand it, and I know it's not a server), but some of the design ideas may be of interest. The other non-LMS solution I've been pursuing is foobar2000 with foo_upnp. It runs well under Wine on linux, and if anything is even more flexible, but it can be a little too clever and complex at times. LMS 7.8 on VortexBox Midi, FLACs 16->24 bit, 44.1->192kbps. Touch with EDO on Ethernet, coax out to a Musical Fidelity M1 CLiC. Wireless Xubuntu laptop controls server using Chromium. Meridian Explorer USB DAC to listen to LMS via Squeezelite on Vortexbox & other PCs as required. Spare Touch in loft! Unfortunately, no. That has to come from the source provider and I suggested that to TuneIn years ago.
