[slim] PoE
I am trying to power a touch over PoE, and I assume all the devices use similar voltages so I put here in general. The touch has a yellow tipped EIAJ connector, and is 5v. My PoE splitter has a black tipped EIAJ connector for 5v. They look exactly the same. [slim] Can not play ACC
Hej! For some reason I can not play ACC files. They work just fine with Winamp and Foobar so the files must be ok. Foobar say the Codec is ACC and Codec profile is ACC LC. I have searched the net about this and found only answers realting to Linux servers. I run the server on a Windows 8 PC (64bit). Logitech Media Server Version: 7.7.2. Do you mean AAC files, I've not heard of ACC? If AAC are they perhaps DRM files, if they are then they won't play on a Squeezebox I believe. No need to tinker the .spk file. If you feel comfortable copying around a few files, you could easily take the 7.7.4 (or 7.8 fwiw) tarball, and copy over the Slim folder with its sub-folders. When I saw the thread title I thought Uh oh, the transition from MOG to Beats Music is here. But then I tried and found that MOG is still working for me, even though I haven't done anything yet to transition to Beats (which acquired MOG some months back and is soon integrating with their existing services). Have you checked the AAC Filetype options in Settings/Advanced/File Types? What are the Stream Format and Decode settings for AAC (i.e. for AAC in the left column)? [slim] Spotify app differences
Hello all and happy new year! I have a question regarding the different Spotify apps available on my Sboxes, Radios and Touch. Normally I use Triodes orange app, one reason being that I won't be redirected to Msb.com which happens when I use the Logitech (green) app. But, to be able to stream different music from Spotify to different players you are forced to use the Logitech one. Recently I noticed that when doing this from iPeng the Sboxes remain connected to my local LMS- server. This is no problem for me since I almost exclusively use iPeng but I would like to now why there is no redirection when doing so, but when I use the Sbox direcly. As far as I can tell (looking at the downloaded manual for my old Duet), the Duet does not natively support AAC but it will play AAC transcoded by LMS. If that is so, I suggest testing to see whether changing the AAC Stream Format box to Disabled (or deactivated) helps. If it turns out that there is not problem without synching, then you can add back players one at a time (synched) to see where the problem might lie. If one of the players is the problem, then there are options to get that player better connected so that you don't have a problem. Hi, First of all, I'm quite please with the re-design of the iOS app and don't mind paying for it again. I would really like to be able to see album art thumbnails in the playlist view. I can see that there isn't a lot of horizontal space when holding the phone in portrait mode, but there would be lots of room in landscape mode, except that the app switches to a different mode (which I never use). Was this LMS a clean install or was it an upgrade ? I normally use iPeng in portrait mode and sync players using MultiPlayer Control on iPhone 5 with iOS7. This works flawlessly in the old version (2.0.16) but on 7.0.1 the edit button is not visible in portrait mode. As a workaround, I exit out of Multiplayer control, turn the phone to landscape, reopen multiplayer in portrait mode and voila, the edit button appears and I can eventually sync! I guess this might be happening because I have Bold text set to ON in the iPhone accessibility settings? It does not appear that iPeng 7 supports Dynamic Type so I cannot adjust the virtual font size. In comparison with other apps, iPeng 7 seems to have a large screen title font? Also I am wondering why the Home button has been replaced by Back? In some situations this is annoying, particularly when transiting back from a subsub menu to the main items. I doubt that :) One of the problems with the artwork is that you'd need a taller cell to show the artwork, too. And this means, in Landscape mode you'd have space for only four rows. It's hard to see something useful there and it's impossible to move cells, I'm pretty sure in landscape mode the artwork would hurt even more than in portrait. The playlist menu just doesn't work in landscape, that's why it isn't showing, the screen properties are not made for it. Dynamic type is a good idea if you have a lot of text to show but whenever you have a more complex screen layout where you need to exactly position control elements it just doesn't work. It's also another performance killer and performance of the iOS 7 runtime is already pretty dismal. I plan to use it in the main menus at a later state but currently not. Apart from that: the home button got replaced by back for several reasons - The home button just looked too ugly under iOS 7 - The button actually _is_ a back button. Which means that - This indicates that the back system gesture iOS 7 defines also works (swipe from the left screen edge) which means you don't have to use the button at all. Yes, I am now able to reproduce it, too.
