Re: [slim] wireless access denied
No Solution, no. But I can repeat my suggestion from a few days ago: turn off _all_ security, try again. Make sure you reset your player's wlan settings, too. If that works, then turn on security one by one. Am 18.03.15 um 01:14 schrieb gearhead: Michael... can you advise a solution? Re: [slim] FNG. Old Touch. Unable "my music" Any help appreciated.
Clearly I'm in over my head. I reintroduced the Touch to the No. 1 router, which is plugged directly into the PC. While it works, it seems to have a tendency to lose the signal and drop off. I travel a LOT and I have only used the unit a few hours since I got it working. What do you guys recommend that I do next to try and resole this mess? Is there something obvious that I'm missing? Squeezelite to Meridian USB Explorer DAC to speakers/phones. Wireless Xubuntu 14.04 laptop with firefox/upplay or Android 'phone with Squeeze-Commander/BubbleUPnP controls LMS/Minimserver. Have a Touch with EDO, and a spare, but don't use. Re: [slim] Full scan hangs
Folks, Thanks for your offer to help with my scanning problem. I had a bit of a learning curve to figure out how to access, zip up, and attach the scanner.log, but I think I have succeeded. There are a couple of things that are puzzling me, however. I conducted a full scan this afternoon. When I look at the first few lines of the scanner.log that is accessed from the LMS>Advanced>Logging UI interface, I see that the first few lines of the file are dated [15-03-17 12:01:13.9893], just as I expect. But when I used CryptoTerm to access the latest scanner.log file (named "scanner.log-20150317.gz"), I see that the first few lines are dated [15-03-16 13:18:45.6067], one day earlier. This is a complete mystery to me. Why would the scanner.log accessed via the UI show show the date as 15-03-17, and the scanner.log accessed via CryptoTerm show the date as 15-03-16? In any event, because Mnyb advised that I not cut and paste from the UI, I have attached the zip file of the scanner.log I accessed via Cryptoterm. I just don't know if this is the scan I did yesterday, or the scan I did today. I hope it will prove helpful either way. Below I have embedded an image of the way I set up the "Debug" options. Please let me know if I messed this up somehow. I probably used "overkill" options. As usual, the scan took a little over 2 hours to complete, and a couple of times the Squeezebox displayed the usual "Can't connect to server" message. Yet, another of the images I embedded below indicates that the actual scanning process took just over 12 minutes. I have no idea what was happening for the remaining time. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. Re: [slim] BBC online radio fiasco - comments, news, moans, campaigns
I see that the BBC blog is taking its usual sad course: 1. Andrew Scott posts a list of justifications and rationalizations for the BBC's conduct without actually addressing any of the questions left over when previous posts were closed for comments. 2. Generally desperate or frustrated (but polite) listeners request answers to old questions, ask some new questions, point out further manufacturers who have heard nothing useful (or at all) from the BBC, etc. 3. Andrew Scott ignores these comments and questions (although it's only a day so far). 4. More questions and comments arrive. 5. Someone gets annoyed and starts "campaigning". 6. The BBC moderator closes the thread. ftlight's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5294 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103311 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

It's usually referred to as an access point, hopefully the new router can easily be configured in that mode. Either that or setting the original router in bridged mode and disable the WiFi on that. And I agree, just plugging it in is generally not a good idea which this thread illustrates. alfista's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=32396 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103300 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] FNG. Old Touch. Unable "my music" Any help appreciated.
The second was plugged into the first. I used a 20 foot ethernet cable and moved it to a more central location in the house. The first had very limited range. So, yes one network. I can't answer your IP question. Now however, the Touch will stop playing from My Music. I walk over and it says it can't pick up the signal and tells me to make sure that LMS is running. Well, it IS running. Sothis is frustrating. The damn thing used to work great. I can switch to Pandora and it fires right up. Re: [slim] Net::UDAP - SqueezeBox Receiver configuration tool
I am also having some trouble getting this working, with a boom. One of my booms has a dead screen and I want to set it up so that I can control it via iPeng. Before I had a brain explosion and did a fact reset, it was working aside from the screen. I booted with the '+' depressed but nothing is discovered. I tested the process with a working boom and it would not discover either. I am running Fedora 8 as a VM on a windows host with a direct connection (X-over cable) between my laptop and the boom. I put the boom end into another laptop and run wireshark and could confirm that the broadcasts are being sent out on the wire. When I run wireshark on the local machine with the boom connected, I see the broadcast go out but no response from the boom. So it seems that the boom is not responding for some reason. I have tried sending the discovery packet at various times during startup as well as after selecting 'English' and then both wired and wireless networks. Any ideas on what I could try to get the boom to respond ?
