I have had a response to my 'stage 2' appeal from the BBC.
Unsurprisingly they have decided to reject it and not forward it to the
trustees. The substance of the response is the usual bureaucratic
verbiage. I think it means that it's none of the Trusts's business how
the BBC is run.
Is it
Look after them others ans look for another hidden One. Maybe under a
book or cushion or even a cat. I'm pretty sure one of them IS
interfering.
At least your SB remote seems to work fine.

and the machine can run a pretty complete linux system besides.

I'd like to pretend to know what this meansBut I'll start with

This all sounds very cool. I was wondering: Is the RPi strong enough to
run LMS smoothly including plugins like Shairtunes, Triodes Spotify and

LMS on such a small device?
Depends really what you expect
Thanks for the input.
I don't have another remote to try with, but I looked at it through my
cell phone camera.
When I press a button on the remote, the light is blinking/flickering
rapidly. But it stops when I release the button.
Not sure if this is expected behaviour, but I think I'll try and
Yes the VPN will be slower, esp. if you use a weak (CPU- or RAM-wise)
router.
But it doesn't really matter. Let the router create a VPN tunnel to
friends/family stateside, and put the LMS and players on this network at
your place.
Keep the usual router function and LAN for your other devices, for

Well the OP stated he's using 2 players and mySB.com for internet music

This is certainly a low-end scenario. I stand by my statement; anything
including a smartwatch that is less than 5 years old and has 256 RAM

There's no cable in there, besides the wifi antennae cable(s). Had you
failed to re-seat the antenna cable socket properly on the card, you'd
get poor wifi reception but I don't see that blocking audio out.
Of course, volume is not set to 0, I suppose you've checked that.

Found them via Tunein radio app.
Are most podcasts / audio broadcasts / radio stations available with

Hi
I haven't really explored this before - but discovering that Private Eye
magazine now produce regular podcasts has got me interested.
Can I listen to these on my devices via MySB.com ? If so how ?
Also how would I listen to them via LMS 7.9x ?
Thanks
Touch x 2, Booms x 2,
Many are. But there is also a podcast app on the Squeezeboxes and a
plugin for LMS.

Now that I think of it, I think I've had a Boom showing this strange
behaviour. I believe it was solved by replacing the battery.
Direct sunlight can affect IR reception AFAIK, and of course IR blaster
might send slim/JVC commands.

Oh man, epoch1970, cannot thank you enough - Xilinx reset did the trick.
Wasn't even aware of this feature. Audio was not off, the track simply
did not start playing/loading, the display indicator of track volume
would simply freeze. But all good now, the box is playing beautifully
again.
My Classic recently went dead - turns out the power adapter was broken.
Before finding that out, however, I had taken the box apart, taken out
the wifi card and connected via LAN to see whether a broken WLAN PCI
card was the problem (this had been recommended in some forums). Once
