Re: [slim] Download artwork
Hi, I did a rescan and noticed there were additional notifications on the bottom of the page about scanning coverart and looking in ( I have a linux server ) in \var\lib\squeezeboxserver\cache I see there is a new folder called mai_artwork which has lots of images in it and they are indeed shown when you browse artists so it looks like the job is done Keep in mind that the cache folder can be wiped at any time. If you want to be sure you don't have to download those covers again, copy the files form the cache folder to the albums' folders. -- Michael ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

[slim] possible path to finding a way to stream SiriusXM to Squeezebox
In the past, there was a PC application called SiriusXMStreamer from www permanence. com / sirius / that let you "Listen to Sirius Internet Radio and XM Radio Online streams through your favorite media player, game console, or mobile device! " . I had used that with TVersity from forum.tversity. com / t / xbox-audio-rss-siriusxmstreamer / 15701 . The SiriusXMStreamer provided the stream to Tversity, and TVersiity would transcode it from a format that my old Ruku internet radio would not understand to one where it would. The setup should also work with the Squeezebox except that the SiriusXMStreamer is no more. If you can find a similar application, you can create a SiriusXM stream within your home network that the Squeezebox can play. The UE Smartradio would need to be converted to a Squeezebox to play the customized stream. I own two Logitech Squeezeboxes that I converted to UE Smartradios and have given 4 Smartradios as gifts. Only if there is absolutely no alternative supplier will I ever consider another Logitech purchase of any kind. No one likes to be misled and cheated. I also have a Grace radio which does a nice job with SiriusXM, but it does not include Tunein, a major drawback. elvtpgfiz's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=65071 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104734 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Just my two cents. This is indeed an interesting debate. The RaspBerry Pi route is by virtue of the low cost of the Pi a bit of an oddity. It is hi-fi but at a very budget price. Aufiofools like big ticket prices (I am not being facetious here) so other than those who are already wedded to LMS the rest of the Audiofool community is bound to go elsewhere. What someone really needs to do is to build a really really expensive Pi & Dac option with a high quality really nice looking case and fancy power supply and flog it in the Hi-Fi mags. *Vortexbox LMS 7.8 music on QNAP TS419p via NFS* iThingys/iPeng/Tablets *Living Room* - SB3 -> Onkyo TS606 - > Celestion Ditton F20s - Zone 2 -> Sony TA FE 320 -> Sennheiser RS 130 & B P7 *Office* - RPi -> Sony TA FE320 -> Celestion F10s / SB3 -> Onkyo CRN 755 -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes *Dining Room* -> SB Boom *Kitchen* -> UE Radio (upgraded to SB Radio) *Bedroom (Bedside)* - SB Touch -> Topping TP21 -> AKG Headphones *Bedroom (TV)* - Amazon Fire TV (SB Player) -> Topping TP20 -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes d6jg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44051 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104714 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

[slim] SSH Port Forwarding and Squeezelite
Hi! I have been using Squeezelite and Neorouter for a long time to stream music from home to work. Did some reading about SSH Port Forwarding and wanted to try it out. I have set up a SSH tunnel to my Vortexbox with port 9000 and 3483 forwarded. I can browse LMS and the player shows up. The problem is that I can only use trancode to mp3 and it's says trancoded to pcm? flac don't play at all. Bithastighet: 1083kbit/s VBR (Converted to 1411kbit/s PCM) Another thing, I have setup iPeng the same way and it works as it should.
