I recently purchased a Dot for my office Boom for exactly this purpose
(and controlling the lights, etc.). There is a setting for the Boom
that allows you to set the line-in to always on (in theory). It's great
when it works but unfortunately the line-in on the Boom has some bugs

Services are quite transient anyway , they have yet to make money. And

Thanks to all. I tried to switch to MySB.com while LMS was running. The
screen flickered, radio worked (in the beginning) and MySB.com didnt
show a connected player.
It seems, that something was really going wrong. Ah, and yes, MySB
credentials are correct.

Not as such, but some of us are trying to be dependent on as few "out
there in the cloud" resources as possible.
Then go buy CDs or downloads :-).
