I've been doing this for years (mainly for iPeng playback), with no ill
effects. I was using strong password. However, reading the
recommendations, I just turned it off. Exactly how is an plain-text
password compromised in this scenario?
I get the same functionality by installing the Plex iOS app
If it does go then an echo dot or chromecast can replace the Spotify
functionality. Not ideal but better than nothing. I would much prefer
another plugin.

Hi jags,
In my experience USB sticks automatically load under /mnt/sda1. (use df
command)
If it doesn't dynamically load try rebooting or using the command $ sudo
mount /dev/sda1
A USB stick won't have 4 partitions unless you added them.
You need to supply more info, like type of USB stick, er
I used to do that in a record library. :)
Just saying that for a lot of people the loss of this one aspect won't
kill the platform.

Hey,
I have installed on a Pi3 PicorePlayer 3.02 (latest version). All seems
to work properly but I can't get the USB stick mounted.
I reformatted the USB stick but no luck. Reformatted with FAT32 or NTFS,
does not matter, does not work.
I tried another USB stick, not working.
I installed linux.
I have discovered quite a bit of new music on spotify that I would never
have heard had I not had it (or another streaming service). If I like
it enough, I get the cd/vinyl or whatever lossless.
But hey, whatever works for you.

Never used Spotify, don't expect to start. Doesn't bother me one jot if
it goes away. Everything does, all is ephemeral on the internet.

This would be the final nail for me. My two SBT's w/the vortexbox is
already buggy. Always having to diagnose what the issue is when I want
to listen to music. I just can't turn it on and play music...something
always has to be fixedEvery. Single. Time!
If/when spotify goes I will probably
I dropped by this thread and also read the announcement on the Spotify
website that Libspotify will finally be phased out somewhere this year.
This is worrying news for the majority of the Squeezebox users I think.
So what surprises me is that apparently not many people seem concerned.
