Re: [slim] Spotty - 8-10 sec wait between songs

2018-09-06 Thread alc23

An update: my issues with pauses between Spotify tracks have disappeared
since updating to LMS 7.9.2 and Spotty 2.4.4. There are also no longer
the Networking::IO errors in server.log.

There is still a slight pause as the new track buffers
("Rebuffering...x%") but it's minimal.

Re: [slim] Problem can't open file for:

2018-09-06 Thread alc23

Hi Michael - I recently started receiving this error whenever playing
FLAC files with sample rates greater than 48khz.

The problems started occurring after updating to Logitech Media Server
Version: 7.9.2 - 1536072399 @ Tue Sep 4 17:08:12. No errors in
server.log.

I have worked around this by overwriting the files in C:\Program Files
(x86)\Squeezebox\server\Bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread with older versions
(from 2015).

I'm happy that things are working for me again, but thought I should let
you know.

Re: [slim] What are your long-term SqueezeBox solutions?

2018-09-06 Thread menno

Interesting to read what everyone is doing/planning.

For me I think it comes down to the fact my 4 year old son can say "Dad,
play me the Trolls soundtrack", and he'll have to wait for me to do it,
or for me to tell him I dont want to hear that again! But he can easily
now say "Alexa play the Trolls soundtrack" and he gets what he wants.
Finally got 2 Echos last month as a test, primarily to work with my new
home automation.

But even the missus, who's been happy to use the Squeezeboxes all these
years, now finds Alexa easier due to the voice control.

So unless I can get Alexa voice control working for the Squeezeboxes,
then I'll suspect the rest of the family will probably end up wanting me
to setup more Echos.

BT is an abreviation of British Telecom an ISP in the UK

I'm suspecting the Netgear is plugged into the BT Superhub so he has
double NATting/Masquerading

you need to add some more info..

it "seems" your running two networks - both have a route to the internet
but the bluetooth didnt have a route to your local lan ->your netgear
router.
You need to add routings from the bt to the lan and vive versa from lan
to bt.

[slim] BT Hub stopping my ipad accessing LMS

2018-09-06 Thread mandryka

Hello

I control my music from Squeezepad on an ipad. The ipad can join two
networks -- a BT hub and one from a Netgear wireless access point. If
it has joined the Netgear network, everything's fine. However if it has
joined the BT hub network, I cannot access LMS -- I do have internet
though.

I would prefer to be connected to the BT hub because it's faster in my
listening room. Anyway things are clearly not right.

Suggestions appreciated!

The server is on a computer running windows 10, it is 7.9.2.
The (very old!) Netgear product is here
