Like I said. Lms on a pi by using picoreplayer so that transporter etc
work like they should. Then use the W10 box for ripping, comparing
whatever you want to do. Store flac file on a nas with to mirrored
drives and you're done.
Setting up picoreplayer is not that difficult and has been proven

Yes, true. It's a good heads up.

No, unless you enable an equalizer or use replay gain in LMS, iPeng
plays the raw audio up to 96/24

It doesn't take much to rerun WPD. Just one check-mark and that's it.
BTW, my Windows 10 does not reset WPD after an update.

No, I prefer to use Windows. I do a lot of comparisons of various ripped
vinyl and CD pressings so I need Foobar2000 to do this. Programs like
Squeezeplay are useless for that. Essentially I use my Transporter like
a USB DAC. In fact, I was

Well I know very little about networks and I just installed Windows 10
last week for the first time (previously was using 8.1) and it took me
less than 10 minutes to have everything working. With a router it's even
easier...there are no IP settings to have to adjust like you do with a
crossover

Have you tried unplugging it from the mains for10-20 seconds?
This is not the same as rebooting it.

How old is your Transporter? Seems like after 10+ years they are
developing issues.

If you want to ditch the transporter then I guess you just have to say
it and it's gone. Please first send me a PM :)

Perhaps looking at it another way - does iPeng limit volume in any
way? Foobar2000 on the iPhone playing the same flacs seems louder.

No, I usually dont. I do have an old Pure digital docking adaptor (with
DAC) I used for a while and which I still use for testing and I do have

@pippin
Leaving aside lightning headphones do you use a usb DAC with an ithingy?
If so which?

I have a Transporter connected to a Windows 10 PC, to access my FLAC
files through Logitech Media Server. It has always been clunky, trying
to get the Transporter to be recognized by Logitech Media Server. It
often involved having to troubleshoot and get it to connect. Hadn't used

Because the slimproto network connection is working perfectly between
LMS and player - but player is telling LMS using slimproto protocol
don't send any more data as player

Thanks for the suggestions, but I'm still stuck.
*bpa*: You are right, it is the same symptoms. I read through the thread
that you pointed to, and tried a few more things.
I checked my transporter voltage on the settings>information screen, and
it is always between 129 & 131...except once
