Re: [slim] ANN: Orange Squeeze 1.3.0 released!

2017-08-21 Thread short_y

One of the things I miss is the persistent notification and the ability
to control my squeezeboxen from it. What're the chances it'll be
(re)implemented?

Thanks for circumventing that bug with UDP packets in 4.0.3. Works
great!

Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] Orange Squeeze 1.0 for Android Released

2012-01-30 Thread short_y

Just purchased the app (V1.1.0) and tried autodiscovery which worked
great finding my Ubuntu-hosted server but when I try to connect to it I
get ECONNREFUSED on port 9. Not sure what that's all about as I can
connect to it and control everything just fine by manually adding the
server by IP address. Not to mention that SqueezePlayer finds and
connects to it automatically. Suggestions? I'm happy to provide more
info if you need it.

Since you offered to help, I'd love to get more specifics about your
setup. The version of the Logitech software, the port number that the
software is running on (is it really port 9 or is it 9000? Or is the
9 part of the error message?), details about your Android device and
 also your wireless router type.

That should do it for now. Thanks again! The precise error message is

Re: [slim] This URL works with SN, not with SC

2008-04-11 Thread short_y

Thanks, bpa, I'll hang on to those URLs but what I'm really curious
about is why the original URL resolves OK and plays with SqueezeNetwork
but not with SqueezeCenter. Might this be considered a bug?

Re: [slim] This URL works with SN, not with SC

2008-04-06 Thread short_y

OK, finally had a chance to get back to this and I can confirm that it
doesn't work from SC but does from SN. I switched back and forth
between a connection to SC and a connection to SN and it repeatedly
works with SN but not with SC. I tried hitting the server with curl to
see what it returns and I got a 302 object moved but the new location
was the same as what I sent. IIRC, the server keys on User Agent or
something and returns a URL that has variables embedded in it. If the
issuer can't substitute for the variables, you get nuthin'. Tried it in
Firefox with NoScript installed and the URL I get returned is

http://www.streamaudio.com/listen/default_gonew.asp?headertext=Owner=station=KFOG_FMPortalFormat=OptIn=streamtype=filename=

Make sense to anyone?

Re: [slim] This URL works with SN, not with SC

2008-03-17 Thread short_y

Sorry, I shoulda said in my original post that this occurred repeatedly
over the space of an hour or so and I switched back and forth between
SN and my SC installation. Haven't had a chance to try it today. I
guess as much as anything, I'm curious if anyone else sees the same
thing with their SC installation. I've got it installed on a Win XP
box. I've been running SS for about 2 years and only just upgraded to
the release version of SC yesterday.

[slim] This URL works with SN, not with SC

2008-03-16 Thread short_y

http://www.streamaudio.com/listen?station=KFOG_FM

This URL resolves just fine with SqueezeNetwork and generates a 6 URL
playlist. If I enter it in my newly installed SC7 I get a timeout error
and no entries generated for my playlist. I'm pretty sure this worked
fine with SS 6.5.4.

Any suggestions beyond the obvious ones (don't use that URL; find
another station; resolve the URL by hand and manually key in the
results; etc.)?

Re: [slim] Wow - Squeezebox in Frys

2007-12-11 Thread short_y

I was in Fry's this past weekend, too, and was very pleased to see the
Squeezebox on display. The only other retail place I've ever seen it
was a little Mac shop. It was in the early days of the SB3 and they had
a few SB2s left and about a dozen SB3s. If I hadn't actually seen it and
been able to admire its beauty up close, I would probably not've bought
it -- $300 was a little steep for me to buy sight-unseen. Once I saw
it, I knew I had to have it so I looked on the Slimdevices website to
start the purchase process and saw that their office was just down the
street from me! I bought it online and ran down the next day and picked
it up in person. What a swell bunch of guys! And I think I'll probably
pick up my 2nd SB3 this Friday.

[slim] Re: 6.5.0 Live 365 presets picks random station for last preset position

2006-12-20 Thread short_y

I'm having the same issue, too, and I'm running a relatively recent
nightly -- a week or so old, I think. My last preset isn't one that I
visit too often, I guess, because, while I noticed it, I never really
spent any time looking into it.

While we're on the subject, has anyone noticed that the FIRST Live365
preset isn't correct? I just happened across this peculiarity one day
when I hit the up arrow immediately after going into my presets. When
I realized what I'd done and hit the down arrow, I noticed that the
first preset was different! I tried it a couple more times (going back
to Now Playing then coming back to the Live365 presets) and saw the same
behavior.

Should we open a bug on this? I'm not too familiar with the
SlimDevices bugzilla forum but I couldn't find anything about live365
presets with my rudimentary search.
