Thanks for the suggestions. I'll see if I can dig into this a little
more, but I have to wait for it to occur again and I have no idea when
that might be. Stay tuned...

This activity occurs on two completely separate systems with Squeeze
Server installed. The only way I've found to stop it is to kill it from
Task Manager. Why is this happening, and how can I stop it?

I moved all my CDs to the garage 3 years ago, stored in plastic boxes
alphabetically. I still access them from time to time (mostly to add
newly ripped CDs), but I rarely (if ever) actually play one. They just
seem so 90's...

In the daytime, this is an intriguing mystery. In the middle of the
night, it's much less fun.
I'm running SC 7.3.3.

weeks until I installed 7.3.3, which fixed the problem. After 3-4 days
it stopped working again and reinstalling 7.3.3 had no effect.
Any ideas?

. But not a highest-dollar, get-that-last-1% type. For me,
it's all about the music -- and I'm just enough of a geek to
troubleshoot Squeeze problems, wish for a better (music) interface, and
scan the Forum every now and then.

Etcetera.
I'll probably spring for another Logitech system, because it is still
the overall best choice for me. But why not make this decision a
slam-dunk by adding some cool (competitive) music management features
for Windows and Mac? I'd be happy to provide specific suggestions...

. Filename editing would also be cool -- useful for
fixing typos, etc.
These are the big ones for me. I also have some suggestions for
secondary improvements, but these features would turn me into a raving
evangelist.
Thanks again.

(but is configured as fixed output). The analog outputs feed a
whole-house system; the digital feeds a local stereo receiver.
This is a minor annoyance that's been going on for several months (and
several versions of SlimServer/SqueezeCenter), but it would be cool to
fix it. Any ideas?
Thanks-

I just went through the drill on Wake on LAN and Standby issues. You
shouldn't have to leave your PC on all the time. See

. If Squeezebox could wake up the PC only when *I* want, instead
of every few seconds when I'm sound asleep, I'd feel better about
myself.
So, is there a way to do this?

I'm using SlimServer to listen to Internet radio, and am looking for a
Tivo-style way to record scheduled programs for later playback through
Squeezebox. Has anyone had success with this? If yes, what software
do you use?

keep buying Squeezeboxes and recommend them to my
friends because they really are the best thing out there. But don't
mistake that for loyalty to some Slim cause. I'm just a consumer who
spends money on stuff I like.
You know, with a killer UI this product would be unstoppable.

something besides MP3...
It's not too early to think about market dominance. Of course, Roku
isn't the threat. Microsoft is. But as Intuit demonstrated with
personal finance software, if you're early and build it for the masses,
you can win big.

any competition; it's just a matter of making it slick and easy.
From my perspective, the eventual winner in the mass-market music
management game will be the company with the most consumer-friendly UI.
For once, it would be cool to see that success go to best product.
Any plans?
