I would really like to have a recently played album list similar to Google music. I have trackstat. Is it possible to stick the last played album list on the main menu... I use my phone to control my squeezebox but would never want to control my whole system with it. The beauty of a remote is keeping your eyes of it and using it by feel. Its great to push one tactile button that immediately starts a sequence of commands for a single activity. No unlocking a screen, finding an app and worse switching between them. The idea of using phones and tablets as remotes is new and fun but not long lasting like a well designed dedicated remote. Squeezebox is different as your dealing with album covers... But I'd never control the volume of my receive with squeezecommander! This update is excellent. I especially love how it plays the whole album now after selecting a track and how a long press brings up all the extra info like tags, etc... Love it!! One more thing I'd like to add to this wonderful controller The option to play the rest of the album if you select one track. I really like the google-esque ui. I generally always use the genres menu to select my next album and its a nice surprise to see the stacked albums similar to google music. I'm excited too watch this controller improve. I just read that Steve Wilson is moving away from dvd-a and onto bluray hd audio. [slim] DVD-Audio 5.1 on Touch
I've been googling for awhile now and just keep getting conflicting results. I have Porcupine Tree's DVD-A in 5.1 which I would love to turn into a flac and play it through the Touch (multichannel version). Is this possible? I've read about two programs Dvd-a explorer and dvd-a extractor. Which one is the easiest to use? Any settings I need to be aware of? [slim] Hi res audio?
I was looking at a website hdtracks and saw all the hi res flac dl for sale...at a premium! Are these tracks significantly better sounding than a cd ripped to flac using eac, etc. I'm new to squeezebox and I already think the normal flacs im ripping sound excellent. Are these 24 bit downloads that much better? I downloaded a hi res song from jazz at the pawn shop and it sounded great but I have to wonder if a normal 16 bit rip would be the same.
