It doesn't need to be 100% accurate. Whatever PocketCasts is doing with these same streams, is good enough. boren's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51290 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108488 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I'm using the WebGUI timeline as a workaround, but it's very inaccurate, especially when I use it from a my phone. boren's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51290 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108488 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Change Previous (<<) and Next (>>) buttons to move back 10 sec, move forward 30 sec?
Previous and Next is useful for songs, but not so useful when listening to podcasts. I prefer the way PocketCasts words, where Previous moves back 10 seconds and Next moves forward 30 seconds. Is there a way to achieve this with my Squeezebox? The players I'm using are two SB3 connected to stereo systems, SqueezePlay running on Win10, and '_SB_Player_' (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.angrygoat.android.sbplayer) (with '_Squeeze_Ctrl_' (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.angrygoat.android.squeezectrl) remote control app) on my Android Phone. Re: [slim] Which Burr-Brown DAC is better - PCM1748 (SB3) or PCM1690 (Onkyo 709)?
Thank you for the detailed answer, it really makes this an easy decision. I will use the SPDIF connection. -- boren boren's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51290 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91613 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Which Burr-Brown DAC is better - PCM1748 (SB3) or PCM1690 (Onkyo 709)?
Thanks for all the comments. I guess listening tests are the best way to compare the two, unfortunately I'm not so experienced in this. Are there any DAC-challenging samples that are recommended to more easily hear the sound quality differences between models? -- boren boren's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51290 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91613 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Which Burr-Brown DAC is better - PCM1748 (SB3) or PCM1690 (Onkyo 709)?
I'm trying to decide how to connect my SB3 to my Onkyo TX-NR709 receiver - using the analog connection (relying on the SB3 PCM1748 DAC), or using SPDIF (relying on the PCM1690 DAC used by the Onkyo). Any opinions? -- boren boren's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51290 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91613 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] How I fixed my SB3 when it kept freezing /Rebooting
One of my two SB3 units has stopped working, so I'm wondering if I should attempt the process described by the OP. Basically the issue is that player connects to the server and songs seems to progress as they should, but there is no sound and the VU meter (I think that's what it's called) is stuck as if the sound has constant volume. Doing a hard reset using the + button and re-installing the firmware didn't help, nor did replacing the player with the one in my living room (that is, connecting it to a different power supply, network cable and stereo system). Would it be wise at this stage to follow the OP suggestions and open up the device? -- boren boren's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51290 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91095 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Can an HTPC and an SB3 sync perfectly?
One of my SB3 players has stopped working. And since it's out of warranty, I'm starting to think about using my HTPC instead. However, in the past I never managed to get perfect and consistent synchronization between either of my computers (running SoftSqueeze) and the SB3 players. Is it possible at all? Is there any special hardware required to do it? If possible, I'd rather spend the $250 on a PC upgrade than a Squeezebox Touch. -- boren boren's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51290 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91596 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Can an HTPC and an SB3 sync perfectly?
pski, so to get this to work one needs at least two PCs connected to wired ethernet - one running the server and another running the client (Softsqueeze)? If so, this is going to be problematic, because other than one computer (the HTPC) the others in my house (a desktop and two laptops) are connected via wifi. -- boren boren's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51290 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91596 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
