[slim] Bizarre distortion over network

2015-05-31 Thread lukaslouw

I am hearing a strange grungy distortion on any music played back on any
hardware on my network, wired or Wifi.
This started the last week. The hardware as listed below has performed
flawlessly for many years.

The distortions is very similar to crossover distortion from Class AB
amps, but at all levels, not just low levels.

All music is in FLAC format.

I can copy music files to a PC/laptop from the server and local playback
is fine with Foobar VLC.

All my music and Logitech Media Server reside on a dedicated server box
running Windows Home Server 2011.
Router: Dlink DIR-655

All the following playback methods produce the grungy distortion when
playing from the server.
Squeezebox Classic
Squeezebox Duet
VAMP
Squeezeplay on various PCs/laptops
Foobar on various PCs/laptops on various PCs/laptops
VLC on various PCs/laptops on various PCs/laptops

This seems to point to a network issue of some kind.

Does anyone have any ideas of what to look for?

Thanks,
Lukas

Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] SqueezeCommander 0.9 for Android

2014-08-08 Thread lukaslouw

Hi Christian,

First let me say that I have been using Squeeze Commander now for a few
years and am extremely happy with it.

I think this might be a bug, and a search in the forum did not yield any
obvious results:

I have all my player settings in the server web interface set for Play
other songs from album or directory, but when using Squeeze Commander,
only the 1st track will appear in the playlist and play.

When I use the Logitech Android app, a Duet Controller or even the
Windows Squeezeplay GUI, as well as the Android Squeeze Player, all
tracks in a folder or album will appear in the playlist and play.

This happens on all players I have, Squeezebox Classic, Duet, Vamp,
Windows Squeezeplay and Android Squeeze Player.

I am currently running Logitech Media Server Version 7.73, but have
noticed the same behavior with previous versions.

Is there a setting in Squeeze Commander that will affect this?

Thanks again,
Lukas

Thanks - that works, what happened to Christian?

You won't get a reply from Christian.

Check the play mode setting. When you open an album there will be three
icons in the top bar, right hand side. The middle of these is the play
mode. The default should be a play right pointing triangle which will
give you the behaviour you want. You probably have a + there which
causes individual tracks to be added to the playlist. Just tap the icon
 for the available options.

Re: [slim] Android Controller App

2012-01-02 Thread lukaslouw

Santa brought me a Nook Color for Xmas, so the first thing I did was to
convert it to Android, using this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1000957.html
That worked great, so I tried the Logitech app, which is very clunky,
then got Squeeze Commander, which is a brilliant little app, very happy
with it
