[slim] What Is Your Favorite Music Service?
I was curious to know what everyone here considers their favorite music service for the Squeezebox. I am a Rhapsody fan but I like to browse through multiple services because I always feel I might be missing something better. Lets see who takes the cake, which service is most popular among our peers. -- phildeeze I consider myself a Wi-Fi radio addict! Re: [slim] Time for a speculation thread...
I think Logitech could greatly increase the sales of all their devices if they built a better remote for the units not including the Duet of course. Now I know you can buy the Duet remote and pair it will the other units but I think they need to build a better standard remote. The line of site just kills the remote use, and honestly there isn't really a point in having a remote if you have to be so close to the unit. They should create a new remote with a simple screen or they could even do without a screen if they just increase the range and use a better form of radio transmission. As far as a new unit would go, I would like to see a new portable touch. Basically a touchscreen Duet. -- phildeeze I consider myself a Wi-Fi radio addict! Re: [slim] No more free last.fm on the SB!
As mentioned above I also feel the quality has been slipping. This may be a lack of funds effecting the amount of time put into the station. I would say they will have to up their quality if they think they will be charging. I certainly wont be paying for low quality service so I hope they use our money to make improvements. -- phildeeze I consider myself a Wi-Fi radio addict! Re: [slim] Squeezebox affecting broadband usage..?
Downloading a song or Streaming a song is nearly the same. If you use a service like rhapsody which streams the mp3 to your computer you will still be using memory. Downloading a song means it is saved on your hardrive, but streaming a song is nearly the same because the information still has to be sent to your computer it just isn't written to your hard drive. Sometimes streamed songs are in a different format so they require less memory but in the end it will still count to your usage. Also Internet radio stations will use memory because they are also being streamed to your computer. -- phildeeze I consider myself a Wi-Fi radio addict!
