Mp3tag is really powerful and you can sort out most mentioned tag issues
fairly quickly.

It is, but could be modified to work on tags; e.g. replace "Format
value" with ARTIST or _ALL.

The only way is fixing the tags. LMS used to try to "normalize" them,
but we got a lot of complaints because it never worked exactly the way
people thought it should. So now it's up to the user
