These are random players with no eco-system is hard to commit to... in a
long run you will be better off with squeezebox

No it isn't. Squeezebox is bespoke audio HARDWARE, not just a generic
computer running an app.
Not saying it might not be
I like the idea of a cheap Andrid client that can run on batteries.
I'll get one and report back.

Hi Ross,
not sure if you saw the bit in my original post, if I got this I'd run
it as a squeezebox, not as a replacement.
As its Android you can install the squeezeplay app, then the box itself
becomes another SB player on your network, thats the bit I'm interested
in!
cheers

I'd like to hear how well it works and sounds. Could definitely use a
cheaper Touch alternative for second room

Checking the specs... it supports FLAC. Not bad. But the speakers are
merely described as 2 built-in High Definition Speakers. When that's
your Tech specs, all it says to me is that good sound isn't the
focus.
Looks like all screen and no oomph to me.

I must say android is starting to get interesting but I do love my SBs
including the Radio. I'd be surprised if those speakers are up to
much. My radio sounds very pleasing.

I saw this too.
My thoughts. I don't want a DLNA-only audio player. I'm very happy with
the richness of squeezebox for audio and specifically I like the central
config/integration for the mysqueezebox.com services. I certainly WOULD
like the ability to run other apps on a similar

How would you talk to it? Would it listen?
