Re: [slim] Presets buttons on an Android App

In fact, I think I'm looking for something where you don't have to go
back and forth constantly in the menus and sub-menus. I just want to
stay always on the same interface (don't know if i'm clear, my english
 is limited)

Don't worry, you're very clear about your idea! And it's interesting, as
some similar concepts recently have been discussed here...

Re: [slim] Presets buttons on an Android App

2011-12-02 Thread Michael Herger
I'm currently using the SqueezeBox Controller on my Android phone to
browse through my favorites radios via the 'favorites' menu but I miss
a menu 'preseleted radios' where I could push one of the six buttons to
zap from one 'preselected' to another like on a real remote.

Would you like to see this as part of an existing UI? If so - how would
you want to bring it up? Accessing the favorites menu is fairly easy
already...

Do you know if there is such an app on the Android market, or perhaps
do you know how to ask for that feature to the SqueezeBox Controller
 software developpers.

I've noted it ;-).

2011-12-02 Thread Bidibulle

Hi,

Well I see it as a little calculator that you have on any phone: 6
little buttons that can bring the same radios that are preselected by
holdind the front buttons during 2 sec.
Below that, a volume bar to control the volume of the radio.

And below that, an 'up' and 'down' arrow (or left and right) to browse
through the favorite radios like on a TV remote: During the night, I
don't like very much reading the screen of my phone: just pushing the
same button again and again blindly would suit me better (old school
guy :o).

In fact, I think I'm looking for something where you don't have to go
back and forth constantly in the menus and sub-menus. I just want to
stay always on the same interface (don't know if i'm clear, my english
is limited)

Well, anyway it's just an idea, I don't know if it's feasible and I
don't think many people would be interested by that...

I think you're right, I'll probably organise my favorites so that the
preselected radios are at the top of my favorites (but I'm a newbie, I
just saw I could move up and down my favorites on the mySB.com site)
I guess I'm a little frustrated by the minimalist remote of the SB Boom
(but great radio !!) compared to the remote of my AM/FM Philips radio
that have a lot of features.
