I was looking at the wrong thing entirely - I'd gone straight for the
.map file (once I'd found it) and was fiddling with that. (A copy of
it!)

Sorry, not getting that at all.
As an example, the font or title format settings do what you say
but the now playing information is just a drop-down list where only
one can be selected.
Pressing the now playing button on the remote still toggles through
all 12 options!
