Last week I had a chance to play with the Bose SoundTouch system at one
of their stores. Good build quality and very slick iPad app. SQ hard to
judge with other people playing other devices at the same time. Nice
range of indoor/outdoor solutions but I didn't see a bridge for
connecting to an existing hifi system. Typical Bose pricey:

Now comes LG with some very nice looking units squarely aimed at Sonos:

C'mon Logitech, how about one last hurrah? Build your own version of

Expensive though!!! For a single stereo setup, you have to buy 2 -
that's $800!!! I wonder how good the sync is to get them to work as a
stereo pair.

I wonder if the shape actually has 2 speakers in it...these articles are
pretty light on the details.

Re: [slim] Samsung enters the fray...

2013-10-03 Thread froth

Sonos for the S series speakers are near the same prices so no
difference here really.

I am happy that some others are getting involved in this market place.
In end it is us the consumers that will benefit (hopefully).

With Samsung involved with their system now and others working toward a
platform, it does show that there is interest still in multiroom
wireless systems.

For me even to consider this samsung tech it would need to support FLAC
and have a device that will allow me to use my in place stereo for part
of my system.

I was quite encouraged with the Jongo system as it has the wirless
speakers, portable devices (battery supported), radios and connections
to existing stereo systems. But once I got to the details I found out
that they have no FLAC support and there is no pairing of speakers for
stereo sound.
