Re: [slim] Stable player for Mac
Thanks! Problem solved! I read the thread and realized it was a permission problem. So I did "chomd -R 755 *" under the dBmusic directory. It now works great! :-) After all these years, these Squeezebox variants still play the best music quality to my ears. :-) Main system: Source: Transporter, modded by ModWright: http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/modwright3/transporter.html Preamp: Dude from Tube Research Labs: http://www.tuberesearchlabs.com/products/dude.html Amp: NP100 Platinum from AltaVista Audio: http://www.altavistaaudio.com/np100.html Speakers: Alto Utopia Be from Focal-JMLab: http://www.focal.com/en/home-audio-loudspeakers/hifi-speakers/floorstanding-speakers/alto-utopia-be.php vett93's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13301 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112585 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I know nothing specific about OSX so just checking basic. What version of Squeezeplay have you installed - r12276 is latest see https://sourceforge.net/projects/lmsclients/files/squeezeplay/osx/ 2019 reports of Squeezeplay (stable & working OK under Catalina are found here https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?111037-LMS-on-MacOS-10-15-quot-Catalina-quot=952533=1#post952533 bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112585 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

It means Squeezeplay cannot play a file format natively and your LMS has not been set to transcode it. If you want help give details. * File format being played or URL if it is a remote stream * Version of LMS * OS on which LMS is running. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112585 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I'm using Squeezeplay (7.8.0r1188) on my MacBook with the latest Catalina without any problems, I use it most days. What sort of instability are you seeing? [slim] Stable player for Mac
What would you recommend as a player app on Mac? I used to use SqueezePlay. But it is not stable with the latest Mac OSX.
