I hadn't heard of these before.
Would it be possible / straightforward to use one of these out-the-box
as a low power machine to run LMS / local music collection ?
the linked amazon deal is strange. The picture is for a small gt7725
that has onboard radeon. The FireMV would be a double wide. HP ThinPro
GT is a customized debian lenny.
They are basic PCs with an external power brick. I don't remember if

The are several users who has used HP Thin clients as LMS servers with
success.

afaik The smallest gt7725 has 1gb ram and 1gb flash.
You can install any os you like as long as the storage constrict allows
it or you install it on some external USB storage.

These are just small computers. I recently switched to using a Foxconn
NT-A3500 as a server and I'm very happy. Cheap, low power consumption,
much more powerful and more capable than a NAS.
