I have a specific requirement - to run the PowerSwitchII plugin to
control the power amps. So yesterday I snapped up an SB3 on eBay for 90

I would say the Touch is much more future-proof. The Touch firmware is
semi-open, whereas the SB3 firmware is completely closed. Also, the SB3
resources are much scarcer, to the point where they had to stop adding
features several years ago because they were basically out of memory on
the SB3. As
Agree. And more future-proof includes Touch's support for hi-res files
and USB DACS (thanks to triode's EDO).
