If you want to atached more logs, zip them thye shrink drastically and I
think the forum sw allows larger zip than txt files ?

What kind of DAS and controller are you using?
150MBps isn't that fast for an array but should be plenty but I guess
seek times are more important, and that is often faster on a single
spindle.

Good to hear... although lways nicer when one know the reason.
BTW Regarding scanning You can look forward to some good speed
improvements in 7.4.2 and 7.5

currenlty running windows 2008
have installed latest version of the software
have 80K songs
is direct atatched storage running on a fast array which can move over
150MB per second
but the scanning is taking hours
and everytime the software is restarted it goes thorugh it all over
again

Which version of Squeezebox Server are you running? 7.4.1 or one of the
non-released branches? 7.4.2 or 7.5.0? and in that case what are the
buildnumber?
Also could you attach your server and scanner logfiles?!

A few things could cause this - a bit more info would help as suggested
above. The scanner.log and server.log files may give you a clue.
Are you using itunes or MusicIP integration or just the basic scanner?
If your scan doesn't take (i.e. the scan starts up every time you
start up
Also, don't run Microsoft Security Essentials. The scan won't complete.

Ah, good point - although I thought that bug was fixed? (Or is that
