Hackers, Dave from element14 called yesterday, discussed the opportunity to receive some hardware (raspberry pi's, beagle bones etc.) or any other components we need to prototype a specific implementation:
A stop motion video recorded from Raspberry Pi based hardware that captures a debate of DeathStar vs Borg Cube from Star Trek. Video1 where DeathStar wins, video 2 where BorgCube wins. That was my best effort to capture the offer that element14 is putting together specifically for hackerspaces in celebration of their 200,000th user estimated in August this year. At this time Dave is collaborating with element14's legal department to formalize this a bit upon my request, and shortly will be sending us a draft with more details. I wanted to share this with everyone ahead of time though to understand how many hackers would be interested in participating in this from start to finish, assuming there's a few weeks for us to meet and work on it? Please reply back with your availability for this at your convenience. Regards, G ps: I thought this would be a great project for experienced electronics hobbyists to share their knowledge AND work on a collaborative project together with people on the verge of buying their first Raspberry Pi (or other electronics kits).. I think if we are able to work on this successfully, it would be great to showcase this at the Akron MiniMaker Faire as well!
