I agree that October is a busy month. In BigCorp world, where your
fiscal year ends on December 31st, October is the last chance to ignite
your post-combustion thrust in your marketing/sales to  get your
customer attention, close quarters figures and beat your YE quota.
Everybody wants to show up in October.

Take the calendar and substract all days with an important event.
You will end up with a couple of days in the summer holiday season
and between Christmas and New Years Eve.

For me personally, end of december would be an ideal time for the
conference. However I fear, not many others would join.

In addition, we have date constraints from organizers, because venues 
are available only in certain months and weeks (universities, for 
instance, cannot host such a large event during lessons semesters as

Doesn't sound to be for only France or EMEA :/

There might be some other stuff in the year, that's for sure, but I'm not
quite sure that it is "overloaded" the whole year... Sounds surprising to
me.
