Hi,
I'm working on some presentation about OSGeo relationship to INSPIRE
directive (some preliminary czech version of presentation, which should
be presented at this years INSPIRE conference [1])
And it came to my mind, that OSGeo does not have any body, related to
INSPIRE [2]
While I agree,
Good idea, we are interested and ready to help if necessary.
Thanks.

Hi Jachym,
A dedicated unit within OSGeo targeting INSPIRE and more broadly SDI would is
IMO a great idea Jachym.
I recall, I proposed OSGeo to play a role of SDIC

I support the idea of widening the group to SDIs in general which would be more
inclusive (even if it is initiated and dominated by INSPIRE) - the use and
application of open source for SDIs in developing countries is very relevant.

Hi Jachym,
I'd also like to support the idea of having a dedicated INSPIRE unit in
OSGeo (if it's not too late may be having a bof on FOSS4G [1] or a
little meeting at the FOSSGIS-Konferenz [2] in Rapperswil?).

Hi Jachym,
This is a great idea, and I agree is missing as a direct goal by the
existing OSGeo committees. As Serena mentioned, it should be focused
on SDIs in general. Would you be willing to start a wiki draft of
this SDI committee? (containing goals, responsibilities, communication

OK,
Let's call it OSGeo SDI committee
To board: There was proposal to start new committee at OSGeo, which
would be focused (as Jeff and Serena pointed out) at SDI in general.
Now, INSPIRE is big issue to most OSGeo projects and this committee
would take care on it, but it should be focused, as
Same here!

Hello all,
For those of you interested in this debacle, I have just uploaded the
two response documents from the Standards Working Group proposing
GeoServices REST API for adoption as an OGC Standards.
They can be found at the end of:
Marco, I think, das schaffen wir nicht, even I would really want to
come, but I'm afraid, it would be difficult due to my work as well. I do
not see any problem to continue via mailing lists/IRC.
Maybe FOSS4G?

Hi Jachym,
Hi,
could you, English speakers and writers, have a look at the wiki page, I
started to work on [1]?
If you would like to be member of the committee, please add your name to
the list at the bottom of the page.
If you have clearly defined goals and methods how to achieve them,
please elaborate
I think it great to hear people wanting to work on / solve INSPIRE / SDI
type issues, but isn't that a large part of what we do as core business
at OSGeo? Maybe it would be best to avoid splitting off another list,
and keep conversation on osgeo-discuss
Looking at Goals/Methods on the wiki:
