Seems likely that "class D" was not copyrighted by them, only their own
implementation was protected, hence the clones. They are the future of
amplification in the same way that digital cameras eradicated film...

Apparently (via google) the HifiBerry use TI's TAS5756M chip which is
quoted as a class D
Of course the Tripath was a Class D with extra enhancements others may
have reverse engineered the "enhancements" so who

For it's price range I don't think you will do any worse. I have always
used a sound card.

For this device, the direction of signal flow is from the low signal
level analogue domain

that's what I did. Good news is that once you have a backup drive, the
updating with changes is very fast and automatic.

It seems like Idagio has developed quite a bit since the original post.
Does anyone know how to stream it via LMS?

Thanks Tex
You have alerted me to another issue with the ART that I hadn't
spotted.
Its an ADC only and not a combined ADC/DAC which the Behringer DJ Mixer
is.
The ART also requires purchase of a separate power adapter and although
it has good write ups I wonder whether it is sufficiently heavy
"Class T" was just a fancy name for tripath's class D stuff. Class D is
much older than tripath.
"To try to judge the real from the false will always be hard. In this
fast-growing art of 'high fidelity' the quackery will bear a solid gilt
edge that will fool many people" - Paul W Klipsch, 1953
I've used Pandora Plus on my SBT's for several years (zero problems, LMS
v 7.7.3 r16676... several years old). I'm considering Pandora Premium;
any issues or advice?
Many thanks,
Peter

I have a backup already. The reason I am doing this is that my primary
music folder is on a 1 TB HDD which has only about 30 G free space.
backup is a 1.5 TB HDD so it has plenty of space. I bought a 2 TB
Toshiba external from Amazon for $64 which I thought was a great price.
The plan is to use
